APDES received the “special consultative status” awarded by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)
This assignement occurs after a long evaluation process conducted by the NGO Branch (Non-Governmental Organizations Branch) of the Office of Intergovernmental Support and Coordination for Sustainable Development.
The statute will allow for articulation and proximity to the Economic and Social Council through oral presentations, written declarations and participation in meetings, by invitation, if this proves to be appropriate.
This statute brings an added responsability to our collective, promising that we will do everything to report the problems of the communities in the Council and its subsidiary agencies.
