INCLUS@ – Reintegration

The Project of Social and Occupational Reintegration takes place in the Regional Prison Facilities of Guarda since 2008. Its goal is to promote the social reintegration of prisoners through the valorisation of work, the reconstruction of family ties and the development of personal/social competences that empower them for an active life and citizenship. The reintegration of prisoners is being developed through integrated work in several areas (healthcare, social condition, work, family, etc.), according to the individuals’ different life dimensions and the creation of new communication channels with the institutions involved in this process.

The prisoners benefited from the intervention process carried out, though training programs related to employability; individual psychosocial monitoring; information and awareness-raising sessions on work/training and through the occupational integration in the prison context and also after leaving prison. The project is co-funded by IDT/SICAD.
