RR Marvila
- Duration: 2010 - 2011
- Contact: info@apdes.pt
The RR Marvila project has developed several actions oriented to psychoactive substances (PS) users on a street context, in Marvila (Lisbon) – particularly, in the Armador, Flamenga and Lóios neighbourhoods. Its main goal is to promote Health Education, based on strategies of Harm Reduction associated with the use of PS and sexual behaviours.
The education of young PS users to encourage an active citizenship, the actions against social exclusion and stigmatisation of these individuals and the promotion of the access to a network of services, were some of the project’s main goals. In order to reach out to “hidden” users, the RRM project developed a training program; two Peer Education training courses were conducted, in order to integrate a peer education instructor and promote his/her continuous presence during the teams’ periods of absence.
