PREVIH

APDES lead the process of implementation of the methodology for training and integration of Peer Educators in Outreach Teams, in the ambit of the project PREVIH. This work was developed in collaboration with the promoting entity, GAT – Grupo de Ativistas para o Tratamento do VIH/SIDA – and was supervised by the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of Porto.

This project started in 2010 and was funded by the Coordenação Nacional para a Infeção do VIH/SIDA. The methodology used in this project was developed by APDES in the ambit of InPAR (action-research project that resulted in a good practices manual for the professional integration of peer educators: InPar project) and its innovative character was associated with the effort of adapting the methodologies to the specificities of targeted community: Sex Workers.
